About the Program
The Accounting and Payroll program is a 33-week online diploma designed to prepare students for careers in accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll administration.
Throughout the program, students build practical skills across key areas such as:
- Financial and manual accounting
- Payroll legislation and compliance
- Microsoft Excel and business software applications
- Computerized accounting using QuickBooks and Sage 50
Coursework is delivered through guided instruction, hands-on assignments, and applied simulations that reflect real workplace scenarios. Students also complete career planning and preparation modules that focus on job search strategies, résumé development, and interview skills.
Graduates who meet the academic requirements will be eligible to pursue the Payroll Compliance Professional designation through the National Payroll Institute, subject to additional designation requirements. With a structured online format and consistent weekly engagement, students graduate with the technical skills and confidence needed to enter accounting and payroll roles across a range of industries.
Admission Requirements
- Student has Grade 12 or equivalent or meets criteria for Mature Student Status.
- Mature students must be 19 years of age, pass a qualifying test, and provide a Letter of Intent OR resume that supports their skills and aptitudes to be successful in the program.
- The approved qualifying test for this program is the Wonderlic test. A passing score for this program is 14.
